China trip cost guide
How much does a trip to Beijing cost?
Compare PEK and PKX connections, choose useful hotel access and plan city heritage bookings separately from a Great Wall excursion.
Lodging-only examples for 3, 5, 7 nights
Planning estimates for two travelers sharing one room, lodging only. They are not live quotes and not a total trip budget: flights, food, transfers, local transport, activities and fees are excluded. A price you enter in the calculator always replaces these estimates. Totals are calculated from the nightly rate and rounded to whole euros.
| Travel style | Per night | 3 nights | 5 nights | 7 nights |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Budget | €65 | €195 | €325 | €455 |
| Normal | €100 | €300 | €500 | €700 |
| Comfort | €165 | €495 | €825 | €1,155 |
| Luxury | €300 | €900 | €1,500 | €2,100 |
Arriving in Beijing
Beijing Capital Airport (PEK) and Beijing Daxing Airport (PKX) require different arrival routes. The municipal government provides separate transport guides, so use the gateway on your ticket rather than a generic Beijing airport quote. Compare the airport service and onward journey to your hotel together; a rail endpoint is not necessarily the neighbourhood where you will stay.
Airport transfers are a separate budget line. Where a reliable fare is not available, Fareveal shows it as unknown rather than zero.
Getting around Beijing
Beijing's scale makes selected geographic clusters more useful than a long list of landmarks. Plan the city transport for each cluster and leave a Great Wall outing as a separate departure with its own return arrangements. Airport buses and express services serve specific endpoints, so verify your selected connection through current official information rather than assuming all lines reach the historic centre.
A budget trade-off
Choose hotel access according to your main city programme and excursion pickup needs. Accommodation selected for a historic-neighbourhood stay may create a different airport and luggage experience from a station-oriented hotel. On a short visit, concentrating on a few substantial experiences can be more practical than trying to combine central heritage, distant parks and a Great Wall trip every day.
Attractions and discretionary spending
Use the exact operator's booking information for a selected palace, museum or Great Wall visit, including reservation requirements and identity-document instructions. Beijing's official airport material mentions layover excursions, but that is not a promise that your itinerary or immigration situation qualifies. Treat a stopover tour as a separate product requiring confirmed eligibility and a comfortable return-to-airport plan.
Official sources
Two ways this budget can change
- A city heritage stay can choose useful central transport access and organise substantial visits by area, with bookings checked individually.
- A city-and-Great-Wall trip can dedicate a separate excursion day, checking pickup and return rather than treating the Wall as an urban metro stop.
Fees and easy-to-miss costs
Fareveal does not yet publish a verified local-fee amount for Beijing. Confirm any mandatory charges on your booking before treating a total as final. Entry and visa rules depend on each traveler.
Worth checking
- Confirm PEK or PKX and consult its separate transport guide.
- Check the onward hotel route beyond the airport-service endpoint.
- Verify reservation and document instructions for chosen attractions.
- Confirm eligibility independently for any airport layover product.
- Keep a Great Wall outing and airport return margin separate.
