Ireland trip cost guide
How much does a trip to Dublin cost?
Choose the DUB coach for your hotel stop, plan central walking and evening music, and keep coastal or regional excursions separate in your Dublin budget.
Lodging-only examples for 3, 5, 7 nights
Planning estimates for two travelers sharing one room, lodging only. They are not live quotes and not a total trip budget: flights, food, transfers, local transport, activities and fees are excluded. A price you enter in the calculator always replaces these estimates. Totals are calculated from the nightly rate and rounded to whole euros.
| Travel style | Per night | 3 nights | 5 nights | 7 nights |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Budget | €110.50 | €332 | €553 | €774 |
| Normal | €170 | €510 | €850 | €1,190 |
| Comfort | €280.50 | €842 | €1,403 | €1,964 |
| Luxury | €510 | €1,530 | €2,550 | €3,570 |
Arriving in Dublin
Dublin Airport (DUB) publishes several bus and coach options, including Dublin Express, Aircoach and public transport. Select by the stop nearest your accommodation and the arrival terminal, not just an airport-to-city description. Operators use different routes and boarding arrangements. Include the final walk or connection, especially if the hotel is beyond the central stops or the flight arrives late enough to limit the convenient choices.
Airport transfers are a separate budget line. Where a reliable fare is not available, Fareveal shows it as unknown rather than zero.
Getting around Dublin
A compact central itinerary can link Trinity's surrounding streets, the Liffey and central dining areas on foot, with transport for more distant visits. Staying near the airport-coach stop can simplify luggage handling, while an address selected for nightlife may suit evenings better. For trips beyond the centre, compare the actual bus, Luas or rail connection. Do not buy a transport product until the chosen sightseeing days reveal how much you will use it.
A budget trade-off
Central lodging can reduce repeated journeys, but the relevant centre depends on the trip: a heritage-focused day and a seaside excursion need different connections. If evenings revolve around live music, plan the return to the accommodation as carefully as arrival. A regional tour or a coastal rail outing should have its own transport line. Its pickup point may make a seemingly convenient central hotel less practical than expected.
Attractions and discretionary spending
Brewery and distillery visits, literary heritage, museums and music experiences produce very different spending plans. Choose the visit you want rather than treating every brand-name attraction as mandatory. A pub meal does not automatically include a paid performance, and a music event may have its own ticket or reservation. Put the fixed booking into the calendar first and use nearby exploring around it to avoid unnecessary cross-city travel.

Two ways this budget can change
- Central walking break: pick a hotel for both its coach stop and the central sights, book one preferred heritage or drinks-related experience and leave time for the Liffey and neighbourhood exploring. Keep the airport service as its own ticket choice.
- Coast-and-culture stay: dedicate a day to a coastal or regional outing, confirm the departure point and preserve another day for city visits. Choose evening entertainment deliberately and compare the return journey with the hotel location.
Fees and easy-to-miss costs
Fareveal does not yet publish a verified local-fee amount for Dublin. Confirm any mandatory charges on your booking before treating a total as final. Entry and visa rules depend on each traveler.
