France trip cost guide

How much does a trip to Nice cost?

Plan NCE tram access, old-town or station-area accommodation, Cimiez visits and separate regional journeys along the Riviera.

Lodging-only examples for 3, 5, 7 nights

Planning estimates for two travelers sharing one room, lodging only. They are not live quotes and not a total trip budget: flights, food, transfers, local transport, activities and fees are excluded. A price you enter in the calculator always replaces these estimates. Totals are calculated from the nightly rate and rounded to whole euros.

Arriving in Nice

Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (NCE) has tram access, with the airport and tourist office describing the connections. Match your terminal, tram destination and final hotel approach before choosing a ticket. Nice-Ville railway station is not the same place as Nice Saint-Augustin near the airport; a onward regional train journey and a central-hotel transfer need different planning.

Airport transfers are a separate budget line. Where a reliable fare is not available, Fareveal shows it as unknown rather than zero.

Getting around Nice

Use the tram network for cross-city movement and walking for coherent neighbourhood visits. Vieux-Nice, the seafront and the port can form a central programme, while Cimiez requires a separate route. If you add a Riviera outing, plan the regional connection independently: a local tram choice does not automatically establish the coverage or convenience of a longer train journey.

A budget trade-off

A seafront or old-town stay prioritises atmosphere and central sightseeing, while a station-oriented hotel can simplify repeated regional departures. Decide whether Nice is your main destination or a base for other coastal towns. Avoid comparing only room prices when one option creates a daily station transfer and another makes your chosen neighbourhood easy to explore on foot.

Attractions and discretionary spending

The tourist office's itinerary separates old-town and seaside exploration from heritage around the port and Cimiez. Choose the museums that fit your interests and confirm each admission directly; do not assume a resident-oriented museum benefit applies to a visitor. Castle Hill viewpoints and neighbourhood walks offer a different experience from museum interiors or a paid excursion along the coast.

Two ways this budget can change

  • A Nice-focused break can choose a central or seafront base and organise old-town, port and Cimiez visits as separate neighbourhood blocks.
  • A Riviera touring stay can prioritise practical railway access and compare each regional return journey before adding multiple coastal towns.

Fees and easy-to-miss costs

Fareveal does not yet publish a verified local-fee amount for Nice. Confirm any mandatory charges on your booking before treating a total as final. Entry and visa rules depend on each traveler.

Worth checking

  • Confirm NCE terminal and the current tram destination.
  • Distinguish Nice-Ville from airport-adjacent Nice Saint-Augustin.
  • Check the selected ticket's airport and regional coverage.
  • Verify museum admission without assuming resident benefits apply.
  • Compare hotel location against city walks or regional departures.
