Cambodia trip cost guide
How much does a trip to Phnom Penh cost?
Plan current KTI airport transfers and final hotel connections, then separate Royal Palace visits and onward Cambodian journeys.
Lodging-only examples for 3, 5, 7 nights
Planning estimates for two travelers sharing one room, lodging only. They are not live quotes and not a total trip budget: flights, food, transfers, local transport, activities and fees are excluded. A price you enter in the calculator always replaces these estimates. Totals are calculated from the nightly rate and rounded to whole euros.
| Travel style | Per night | 3 nights | 5 nights | 7 nights |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Budget | €65 | €195 | €325 | €455 |
| Normal | €100 | €300 | €500 | €700 |
| Comfort | €165 | €495 | €825 | €1,155 |
| Luxury | €300 | €900 | €1,500 | €2,100 |
Arriving in Phnom Penh
Phnom Penh's current gateway is Techo International Airport (KTI). Use the airport code on your booking and current airport transport information, rather than older instructions for the former Phnom Penh airport. The airport lists several transfer options, including an Airport Express Bus; compare its route with your hotel's location and plan any final local connection.
Airport transfers are a separate budget line. Where a reliable fare is not available, Fareveal shows it as unknown rather than zero.
Getting around Phnom Penh
Build city days around selected neighbourhoods and a practical sequence of visits rather than repeated journeys across Phnom Penh. The City Bus Authority publishes current route information, but the most useful service depends on where you stay and which sights you choose. Check the route endpoint and final walk for an airport bus separately from routine local transport.
A budget trade-off
A riverside-oriented base prioritises evening walks and a particular city setting, while accommodation chosen for a quieter district or transport connection solves a different need. Compare those choices with the complete airport arrival and the daily itinerary. An onward trip to another Cambodian city is a separate journey; do not assume an airport or urban transport arrangement includes it.
Attractions and discretionary spending
The Royal Palace and the neighbouring Silver Pagoda provide a focused heritage programme in Phnom Penh, as described by Cambodia's tourism ministry. Choose cultural and historical visits deliberately, allowing time for meaningful interpretation instead of rushed stops. Consult the responsible operator for current access and visitor guidance; palace admission and local transport remain separate decisions unless a booking explicitly combines them.
Official sources
Two ways this budget can change
- A city-focused stop can choose useful central access and confirm the KTI bus or road transfer plus the final hotel connection.
- A Cambodia itinerary can treat Phnom Penh as a substantial city visit, then compare the onward Siem Reap journey separately from local transport.
Fees and easy-to-miss costs
Fareveal does not yet publish a verified local-fee amount for Phnom Penh. Confirm any mandatory charges on your booking before treating a total as final. Entry and visa rules depend on each traveler.
Worth checking
- Confirm KTI and use current Techo airport instructions.
- Reject former-airport train or transfer assumptions.
- Match Airport Express Bus stops with the final hotel approach.
- Check official access guidance for selected cultural visits.
- Separate onward Cambodian travel from the city and airport budget.
