Canada trip cost guide
How much does a trip to Vancouver cost?
Match YVR airport rail to your hotel, plan Stanley Park walking or bike hire and compare city stays with North Shore connections and outdoor excursions.
Lodging-only examples for 3, 5, 7 nights
Planning estimates for two travelers sharing one room, lodging only. They are not live quotes and not a total trip budget: flights, food, transfers, local transport, activities and fees are excluded. A price you enter in the calculator always replaces these estimates. Totals are calculated from the nightly rate and rounded to whole euros.

Arriving in Vancouver
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) connects with Downtown via the Canada Line. TransLink's network page distinguishes the airport branch from the Richmond–Brighouse branch, so check the train destination when returning to the airport. Choose a city stop for the accommodation, such as Vancouver City Centre, Yaletown–Roundhouse or Waterfront, then include the walk or onward connection. Airport access is not automatically a door-to-door transfer to every Vancouver neighbourhood.
Airport transfers are a separate budget line. Where a reliable fare is not available, Fareveal shows it as unknown rather than zero.
Getting around Vancouver
Plan a Downtown and waterfront session, a Stanley Park day and separate neighbourhood or North Shore exploring. Waterfront connects different modes, including the SeaBus; the Canada Line alone does not describe the entire network. Stanley Park's seawall and interior routes need a realistic walking or cycling plan. If hiring a bicycle, treat it as its own choice rather than assuming the city's transit ticket includes leisure equipment.
A budget trade-off
A Downtown base simplifies central sightseeing and rail arrival, while an address nearer the beach, a neighbourhood or the North Shore changes the repeated journeys. Compare the setting you want with the actual transport it needs. A day in the mountains is a different itinerary from a city park walk and may require additional connections or a selected excursion. Leave enough city time rather than treating every nearby outdoor destination as a brief detour.
Attractions and discretionary spending
Stanley Park offers waterfront paths, gardens and forest exploring, with separate attractions inside the park. An aquarium visit or a guided cycling experience should be selected deliberately rather than added to every park day. Pair a chosen ticketed activity with a manageable section of the surrounding route. Granville Island, museums and a mountain outing compete for the same days, so compare a bundle only after deciding which experiences fit your stay.
Two ways this budget can change
- Downtown-and-park break: use the Canada Line station suited to the hotel, explore the central waterfront and give Stanley Park its own unhurried session. Choose bike hire or park attractions separately from routine transport.
- North Shore and outdoor stay: plan the SeaBus or other actual connections, dedicate time to the outdoor experience and verify its return route. Compare regional lodging with the city journeys you will repeat before relying on its room saving.
Fees and easy-to-miss costs
Fareveal does not yet publish a verified local-fee amount for Vancouver. Confirm any mandatory charges on your booking before treating a total as final. Entry and visa rules depend on each traveler.
